OMS provides OGUK Physicals. The examination is completed by a licensed physician who is registered with OEUK (Offshore Energies UK) to perform OGUK medical assessments.
During the appointment, the OMS healthcare provider will:
- Review your medical history and any current medications.
- Measure your height, weight, blood pressure, and pulse.
- Perform a vision assessment (including color vision)
- Complete an audiogram (hearing test).
- Perform a urine test to screen for conditions such as diabetes or kidney issues.
- Conduct a physical examination, including an assessment of your heart, lungs, abdomen, joints, mobility, and overall physical health.
- Discuss any medical conditions or medications that could affect your ability to work safely offshore.
If you meet the required medical standards, you will be issued an OGUK Medical Certificate, which is generally valid for up to two years, depending on your health status and the examining physician’s assessment.
If you have any ongoing medical conditions, wear corrective lenses or hearing aids, or take prescription medications, please bring the appropriate documentation or your medications to your appointment.

Dr Eric Jukes joined our team in 2022 as an OGUK certified physician. He is a board-certified General Surgeon. He has been conducting UKOOA exams for many years and is well versed in the Oil & Gas UK standard of fitness. Dr. Jukes is available for UKOOA exams by appointment.
